Australian Radio Station WSFM turns to The Underwater Studio
for Advice on their World Record Attempt
The Australian radio station WSFM morning presenters Jonesy & Amanda decide to attempt a world record and after surfing the internet came across the World record underwater radio broadcast by Martin & Sue the morning crew from Heart Essex (formerly Essex FM) which was carried out at The Underwater Studio in Basildon Essex.
The Original British record stood at 1hr and 25 mins held by Nick Girdler EX BBC, and the world record was 3 hrs 30 mins held by German Radio Presenter Frank Niessen.
Martin Day Broke both records with a time of 3 hrs 41 mins
So when WSFM decided they would have ago at taking the record away from us Poms they contacted The Underwater Studios, Geoff Smith. There then followed a conference call with the radio station and the support crew from Pro Dive. Geoff was able to pass on some tips and explain how the world record underwater radio broadcast was completed..
