Its a Splash Out  at The Underwater Studio

Two radio presenters from WSFM in Sydney Australia did the Guinness world record for an underwater radio broadcast doing 3hrs 9 mins although this did not beat the Essex FM  world record it was an official Guinness world record. 

This was too much English pride was at stake we couldn’t wait for England to keep the Ashes, We had to retaliate and as Basildon hospital radio was involved in a Charity event at The Underwater Studio we decide this was the ideal opportunity to retake the record.

Maria Holland a radio presenter with Basildon Hospital Radio broadcast 6meters underwater at the studio on Saturday 13^th November 2010 for an official Guinness World Record. She Smashed the Guinness World Record and the Essex FM record by broadcasting underwater for 4 hrs 4 mins and 23 seconds.

Whilst broadcasting two teams of scuba divers Phoenix  divers v Jims Scuba were competing in a its splash out (underwater version of it’s a knockout)  to raise fund for Basildon Hospital radio.

Divers competed in underwater darts, underwater ten bowling and other various games followed by the Underwater Gun Run. Like the field gun run at the Royal Tournament.

The Teams had to push a specially made gun along the tank floor taking it over two hurdles using lifting bags and the under a goal post by removing the wheels. Then put the wheels back on and a run to the finish line
